| It's best NOT to trim the wick when lighting your soy candle for the first time. For natural wicks it is normal to notice some "mushrooming" at the top of the wick. Trim your wick to 1/4" to 1/2". Re-trim the wick before every use. A good indication that the wick is too long is that your soy candle may begin to smoke... that's why its best to keep the wick trimmed.
Allow candle to burn 3-4 hours per use (smaller candles 2-3 hours) or until a wax pool fully covers the total circumference of the candle. To get the most of your candle burn time, you shouldn't leave the candle burning for long periods of time (usually over 4 hours). The flame will grow too high & cause your candle to burn more quickly. It is recommended extinguishing the candle at this point and relighting it when the wax fully hardens again.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Melted wax is hot enough to cause burns.
Always keep wicks trimmed - Leaving wicks too long will cause high flames that can leave soot on the sides of containers. It is a good idea to keep your wicks trimmed to 1/4" for safety and best burning results.
Burn candles on heat-resistant surface.
You should never extinguish your candle by placing the lid on the candle. This causes smoke build up inside the jar and may cause the lid to crack. Candle snuffers are highly recommended.
Keep lit candles away from children and pets.
Keep your burning candle in a draft-free area - For best burn results and safety.
Don't burn candles down to nothing. Votives and containers should be extinguished when there is no less than 1/4" of wax left in the holder/container.
Never place lit candles near curtains, drapes or other materials which are likely to catch on fire.
Never burn a candle which is not in a candle holder.
Do not place flammable objects near candles.
